What are the courses?

• Communication, Social Competence, and Independence for the Student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (15 hours)
• Practical Strategies for Working with the Older Student with High Functioning Autism or Asperger's (8 hours)

What are some advantages of choosing a minicourse over a more traditional workshop?

• It may ease scheduling problems. Most courses are scheduled right after the school day or during early evening hours, which results in fewer disruptions to the school's daily schedule.
• An ongoing course means that staff can work over a period of time with a skilled consultant and this increases the odds of training carryover and implementation.
• Staff has the opportunity to bring real problems from their environment to the class.
